In My Own Words
I graduated with a degree in Industrial Design, specializing in Outdoor Product design, and I also minored in Textile Science and Product Performance. These areas of study have influenced my focus on integrating textile knowledge with product performance in outdoor product design.
Throughout college, I dove into the realm of textiles, exploring their composition, structure, properties, and manufacturing processes. My exploration extended beyond theory to practical applications, including considerations like durability, comfort, thermal properties, moisture management, and aesthetics. During my time at Iowa State, I was particularly drawn to Biomimicry, drawing inspiration from nature to develop sustainable solutions. This passion, rooted in my love for the outdoors, continues to drive my commitment to creating durable and high-quality products.
After college, I found myself drawn to the Product Development process, from initial sketches and sampling to product fitting and maintaining detailed data libraries tracking each product's life cycle. My role as a Designer/Developer allows me to collaborate with diverse teams ensuring that the products we create meet commercial standards and are ready for the market.
