• Direct and coordinate textile R&D and development projects between global offices; follow through the entire process until development is complete • Study, evaluate, & validate performance of new textile technologies/products prior to development or introduction to customers • Provide technical support to Brand Services teams on textile developments • Troubleshoot issues related to textile developments; review quality of sample and bulk materials • Daily communication and collaboration with Asia and Central America counterparts on textile developments • Coordinate with entire supply chain from concept to finished product

• Manage tracking, distribution, inventory level, and creation of all masters • Responsible for all material categories (mastering and match-to-master): paint (interior & exterior), resin, textile, PUR/TPO, leather, suede, thread, films, flocking, carpet, webbing, etc. • Review and communicate color comments for all match-to-master submissions from suppliers; Color comments consider placement in vehicle and surrounding materials for color harmony • Facilitate designers in textile development • Work cross-functionally with Color, Materials, Finishing Designers, Materials Engineering, and Design Quality

• Interpret vision from Merchandising and Design; develop materials to realize that vision • Develop materials that meet brand specifications for performance based on end use • Communicate with mills to ensure sample/ bulk yardage is on time • Negotiate costing with mills • Resolve material-related issues that arise during bulk production • Travel internationally to mills; source inspirational materials • Current on textile innovations and trends

Travel internationally to work directly with factories on quality related issues; special attention to fabric-related concerns • Recommend testing based on fabric quality concern; ASTM, AATCC testing standards • Evaluate potential new suppliers for bulk production of apparel goods • Work cross-functionally with teams including: Production, Product Development, Sourcing, Merchandising, Technical Design, and Research & Development

• Effectively communicate with manufacturers to ensure receipt of superior product quality • Evaluate samples to determine cause of product defect; work until a resolution is reached • Develop textile training materials for sales force • Product Development: Determined new product direction with customer, developed and presented design options, negotiated with manufacturers to drive down cost and lead time.
