In my own words
— HugoMy name is Hugo Antuna and I am a Los Angeles based graphic designer and illustrator residing in the LBC.
Growing up in Los Angeles I learned to be inspired by the graffiti, music, weather, food, culture and skateboarding. The design and illustration I saw growing up would motivate me to pursue a career in. graphic design. Fast forward through the years, here I am.

As a Packaging Designer at S.L. Home Fashion I am responsible for the packaging that can be seen in the products that are bough in several stores. This position includes working with factories (over seas) to guarantee product shipping dates with proper packaging files and Pantone color request. Art direct studios photos for product packaging imagery. This position requires a proper understanding of the Adobe Creative Suite along with spec sheet organization and constant communication with buyers, vendors and factories to have products in store by the deadline. As a designer I use the skills I obtained at Cal State LA to prepare products that are visually appealing through color, type setting, packaging foiling, and proper die cut measurments.

As a Jr. Graphic Designer it was my responsibility to create content that would be appealing to campus events. My responsibilities included looking over the creative briefs, design content, orgainize projects. Materials included; posters, t-shirts, hats, mugs, banners etc. Duties also included maintaining a clean and organized office space along with in house printing, cutting, folding, photo re-touch and edit. This career opportunity allow me to explore and experiment with type, layout and digital illustration. As a Jr. Designer I reported to the Creative Director as well as the Senior Designer for design direction and outsource printing. As a student position, salary was limited to and hourly rate.
