In My Own Words
Hi! I was born and raised in L.A. and always worked in the fashion industry in some aspect. I began working in retail at some of the most influential and wonderful places.....everything from years at the iconic Fred Segal on Melrose to high end stores on Rodeo Drive and in the Beverly Center and everything in between. The stores i worked at focused on mostly women’s, top to bottom, and children. Fashion was always my first instinctual passion and because I was lucky enough to be trained by some of the most talented people in the industry, the fire in me was ignited even more to pursue a career in the field. I graduated, top of my class, with the highest design achievement award, from FIT in NYC. Immediately after that, I came back to L.A. and began working at Richard Tyler Couture as a Design Assistant. I helped with every aspect of design (initial concept, fabric, trim, costing, etc.) and accompanied Richard to NYC to help produce his shows for Fashion Week. We dressed celebrities for red carpet events and he was one of the main designers featured in all the major fashion mags. After Tyler, I was an assistant designer at a junior company, but after I realized that all they wanted me to do was copy other people’s work, I left and decided to start my own line. Cherry Bomb was born and was a really fun and wonderful success.....I sold all over the States and in Europe and the line was featured at many trade shows. Running my own successful clothing business for many years afforded me the opportunity to constantly use my creativity and multi tasking skills while orchestrating so many moving parts. Part of my regular responsibilities included phones, filing, typing, sales, inventory, product placement, designing, costing, production, pr, marketing, management, etc. This also parlayed into work as creative director, stylist, and producer on shoots for women and children. At some point, I decided I wanted to incorporate music into my work so I started designing and styling for many well known musicians. I was lucky enough to have my designs on stage at the Grammys 2 years in a row. I accompanied a lot of these artists to appearances as their personal stylist. I was responsible for dressing them for street, stage and anything they needed. I also brokered a deal for a huge surf/skate company to outfit some of my artists for their entire tour. These were some of my most amazingly fun times for sure. In addition, I worked as a personal assistant for years for top music celebrities as well as other business people. I am well versed in complex multi calendar scheduling, research and presentation, travel arrangements, managing endorsements, styling, note taking and support in meetings, and managing extremely busy households. I feel very fortunate to have had the career I have had. I worked hard and am proud of everything I have done. Excited to see what’s still to come....
