In my own words

Corey

I've worn many hats, but the ideas have all come from the same head.

I've been a Creative Director, an Art Director, a Photographer, a Copywriter, a Graphic Designer, and a Vlogger.

I can start from nothing, create an idea, plan it, shoot it, edit it and distribute it out to the world all in one pass. Being able to create at every stage of the storytelling and filmmaking process has been what I’ve built my career around. The more I can do, the better I understand the flow of the project, the deeper I can pull the audience in to the story. And this skillset transcends even videos, as I can apply this process to photography, graphic design, branding, and even copywriting. I do this because I love to create new pieces of content that will entertain or inspire or excite anyone that’s willing to watch.

Trajectory

Jan 2018 — Jan 2019
Content Creator / Co-Founder · Buck & Under Media
I was the co-founder of Buck and Under Media. I would concept brand videos and marketing materials, design them and produce them. Buck & Under Media was born out of a need to tell amazing stories in a fast paced world of visual junk food. Our focus is to craft videos and photography content that grabs attention, sparks inspiration, and tells the unique story of our client's brand. We focus on travel, action, adventure, and anything that stirs up the imagination and sense of wonder.
May 2013 — Jan 2018
Creative Director · JMP Creative
I was the Creative Director for social media content department and toy design shop at JMP Creative. I led video production teams and directed and edited videos. I also shoot photos and fly drones. Because I love anything that can create an image and tell a story. When I wasn't producing videos, I ran production schedules, jumped into brainstorming sessions, built graphics for brand videos and got my hands dirty at any part of the production pipeline.
May 2016 — Dec 2017
Creative Director · Monster VR (Now known as Reality Smash VR)
I worked with the amazing team at Monster VR as their Creative Director. We created several games and marketing experiences for the VR platform using the Unity Engine. I helped guide the creative as well as jumping in to model and texture assets when needed. Several notable projects we created was the Sweet Escape VR game for the Steam platform, an icelandic themed VR marketing experience for Reyka Vodka, and a virtual tour for the tech section of University fo California Irvine (UCI).
Jun 2008 — May 2013
Technical Director - Modeling · Lucasfilm Animation
At Lucasfilm Animation, I was an Environment Artist on the Clone Wars TV show and had been for nearly five years. While there, I had taken up a range of different tasks; everything from the advanced modeling and texturing of assets, rigging assets for 3d layout, assembling large scale sets from components created by other artists and writing documents for our overseas studios to use as guidelines when they are constructing and optimizing assets to be used within our production pipeline. The team and I also won two Emmy's for the Clone Wars TV show.
