Provide a safe and healthy environment for residents to utilize by not only guarding the pool, but also by planning and running bi-weekly in-services for the lifeguards in order for them to keep up on their skills and practice pool emergency scenarios, teach swim lessons to the community, settle disputes between any staff members and/or pool patrons, manage the schedule for all of the guards in order to have sufficient pool coverage, and respond to any and all pool emergencies.

Keep daily logs for everything that happens at the pool including general pool reports, incident reports, pool chemical readings, and maintenance reports as well as complete daily deposits for any monetary transactions and end of day shift reports for the City of Euclid Recreation Department.

Design, run, and coach the Ready Set Swim program—a program designed to help weaker swimmers get ready to join our city’s competitive swim team— by creating lesson plans and workouts for the swimmers.

Hire new lifeguards and other Rec Center staff members, run monthly lifeguard staff in-services as well as run the department’s Audit Team to test the emergency response and skills of all Rec Center members, create work schedule for lifeguards, provide any pool and pump room maintenance at any time, train new lifeguards on AU protocol, and report to the Aquatic Director with any concerns in order to keep the pool and Rec Center safe.

Teach lifeguarding, CPR, and First Aid classes as well as fill-in as a Facility Manager when needed which meant being knowledgeable about every area of the Rec Center and helping out all staff members and Rec Center members as needed.

Created cardio and circuit workouts for the men’s Club Rugby team in order to help them build their endurance while out on the field, and created strength and circuit workouts for the women’s Club Softball and Club Basketball team to help them gain strength and speed for their respective sports.
