TASCO RidgelineX "Back in Black"

We just went live with TASCO’s new “Back in Black” RidgelineX gloves. The photo goal was to go gritty, moody, and fast. The challenge: shooting motion in "the dark". I used all the straps, selfie sticks, small rig clamps, LED lights, and gaffer tape I had to keep this thing stable as I rolled down a gravel path. To keep it from collapsing from the weight of the camera, I used my little Sony ZV-1. There was also a 3rd light that was hand-held and had my remote trigger taped to it so I could get the shot and add more light.

I'm always happy to see a concept come to life across ads, email, and homepage, especially when it starts as an idea in my head.

Projects like this are a reminder that you don’t need a big crew or studio setup to create images for your brand, just solid planning, a good eye for the story, and a bunch of tape.

I’m the former creative / art director and designer of 11 years for crankbrothers – a mountain bike component company known for their infamous eggbeater pedal. While there I handled everything visual for the brand - packaging, all print collateral, web site, instruction sheets, ads, all photography direction, marketing initiatives, and everything in between. I even created and managed a world class two women pro team called The Race Club. 

Cassette Creative is a design collective with 20 years of experience in the cycling industry specializing in branding, print design, packaging, digital media, and creating a visual presence to marketing strategies.
