•Demonstrated competency in the techniques and skills required for surf rescue •The SRT's duties include educating the public, warning swimmers of potential danger, rescuing distressed swimmers, responding to emergency situations, administering first aid, reuniting lost and found individuals, enforcing city ordinances, and other duties as assigned. •Enforced beach ordinances and swimming rules, maintained inventory of first aid supplies, kept accurate records and resolved lost property issues. • Recognized swimmers in need of assistance and acted quickly. •Inspected assigned areas to verify proper posting of warning signs and safety devices and alerted patrons to beach conditions such as hazardous swimming to prevent accidents. •Communicated effectively with patrons and other beach staff and assisted patrons positively, professionally and with personal care, with goal of enabling safe and enjoyable experience. •Maintained constant surveillance of pool or body of water to appropriately react to emergency situations. •Administered immediate and comprehensive first aid to injured and distressed patrons. •Recognized needs and administered CPR, automated external defibrillator and oxygen following appropriate medical protocol and called for emergency assistance when necessary. •Monitored surrounding environment constantly to watch for potential risks.
