Stephen Zander

As a youth, I&#39;ve always been able to focus on multiple things at once, some call it &quot;distracted&quot; others &quot;creative.&quot; So at 12 years old, graphic design became the pie in the sky, the dream job. Since then, I&#39;ve adamantly pursued all things graphics, starting with mastering Photoshop &amp; Illustrator. Furthermore, pursuing extra curricular high school options, such as &quot;Photography&quot; and &quot;Digital Media,&quot; bringing me to Skills Canada for Graphic Design where I placed 11th in the country.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>After leaving high school, the appreciation for creativity was solidified. Not by an artistic pursuit, but the opposite. I followed the typical Edmonton, Alberta career path: I took up construction, working in carpentry &amp; sheet metal for 3 years. My apprenticeship unveiled a mastery of creativity: problem-solving. The journeymen in the industry at times displayed such adept creativity; metal, walls, beams and time became obsolete obstacles. Witnessing such creativity, (and being outside in the freezing weather!) stoked my ambition, when VCAD came into the picture, I was ready.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>2018 roles around, I take on Vancouver, to graduate 2 years later. I graduated VCAD at the beginning of 2020 and began working at HBI Canada shortly after. There, I helped oversee the companies graphic outputs &amp; utilized a keen ability for layout, print, and conceptual design. Working with all the folk was such a blessing, each person providing such insightful feedback and unique ideas. After leaving HBI Canada in late 2023, I began at Thrive Electrify, as a &quot;Digital Marketing Assistant&quot; working into a Specialist role within a couple months. I am currently employed there, helping spread the word of sustainable electrification.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>The thumbprint of design is evident in my life. If I&#39;m not working on a design for someone else, I&#39;m dreaming up my own, working on printers, doing some photography, and even working on watches!
