• Lead technical staff member works on new IP, concept development, testing and standards development, and process development • Management of Engineering department function and employees • Leads execution of project requests from VP of Engineering and New Product Group. Including actual product development, supplier development, data analysis, etc. • Coordinates and leads testing efforts with strategic athlete and team partnerships • Develops department’s annual budget and CapEx purchases • Develops department’s annual new product schedule according to New Product Group goals

Brands: Method Race Wheels, Tensor Tire, GMZ Race Products Product Engineering Lead o Innovative design of wheels and tires for the highest levels off road motorsports competition as well as street vehicles and accessories. o Finite element analysis for stress/strain, fatigue, thermal, and weight optimization o Vehicle dynamics testing and chassis setup including data acquisition (DAQ) for data used in FEA simulation, product optimization, and vehicle performance tuning. o 3D CAD parametric design as well as manufacturing drawings, supervision of drafting activities, review and approve engineering drawings. Evaluate, validate, and approve design and drawing changes. o Competitor bench-marking o Lead continuous improvements efforts to existing products. Investigate and solve problems in cooperation with Quality and Operations departments. Manufacturing o CNC mill and lathe programming/operation for production and R&D concepts o Vendor management of external domestic and international manufacturers including QA, CAPA, component cost analysis, and process auditing. Management o Manage four subordinate staff members in engineering department o Instituted Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and Quality Control (QC) systems o External domestic and international supplier development and management including international and domestic travel to facilities. o Manage sponsored race teams’ product allocation and engineering feedback. o Interface with Marketing, Sales, and customers to understand and document development requirements.
