In My Own Words

Recently returned from a ten year stint on the West Coast. My practice combines the work ethic of a New York design studio with the free thinking vision of an experimental animation studio from California. Design experience and education on both coasts have contributed to a methodology that is driven by research, ideation, and formal explorations. In my career, I’ve been lucky to collaborate with some of the top leaders/thinkers in the fashion, surf, music, art, and technology industries. Whether from an internal or external position, my role has been to help push the brands into new circles, sometimes by taking a critical look back at their history to discover/rediscover that initial spark from inception. While other times it requires the whole group to ask the question "what if..." Either way its a process I take seriously, yet with a playful demeanor.

Freelance Art Director

Outerknown LLC

2017 – 2018

Joined the team to develop a visual language that would unify their digital and print campaigns for Spring and Summer 2018. We took a slightly more graphic approach to the way assets were delivered, utilizing specific color palettes per season and a more refined typographic system. The release of the S.E.A. store, required the creation of a memorable campaign to mark the use of highly recycled materials used throughout new products, as a result a more human/nature inspired photoshoot was executed, along with a scalable system for digital platforms. While working directly with key leadership, a publication was concepted, curated, researched, and designed to help promote OK's call to arms for Preferential Tariffs for Benefit Fibers. Known as the Blue Book, it is an initiative to influence legislation supported by Levis' with the hopes that companies will receive support and encouragement to act more responsibly by sourcing beneficial fibers.
