<p>My last Business cards read "Apparel Product Designer". However, that's an intentionally vague description of a career that started with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Industrial Design that led to multiple roles within two of the biggest brands in the performance consumer goods industry.</p><p><br></p><p>An innovative leader experienced in product design of soft goods product including but not limited to: apparel, bags, socks, hats, protectors, gloves, and footwear, I add value through innovative problem solving and marketable design aesthetic.</p><p><br></p><p>I have a variety of experiences and knowledge in various methods of make, manufacturing processes and techniques, as well as expertise in protective and durable apparel and goods. I am designated as an inventor on 14 utility patents.</p><p><br></p><p>I have helped plan product roadmaps, built calendars for design processes, and collaborated across a multitude of partner teams internally and externally to the brands I've worked for.</p><p><br></p><p>Who am I as a designer? I consider myself a multi-disciplinary designer or design director who specializes in Performance Soft Goods and Apparel design, Protective Apparel design, graphic layout, Product design, and Industrial Design. I am essentially a problem solving creative who creates performance minded solutions to athlete/consumer insight driven problems. I'm a Husband and father of two amazing kids (14yr old daughter and 9yr old son), and former competitive swimmer and active fitness enthusiast allows real-life experiences to incorporate in product creation. A total gear-head with a passion for things with wheels (with and without engines/motors) who races motorcycles at an amateur level and has slowly been restoring a classic car. 2021 – Present

Driving the future of wearable robotics and powered clothing at Seismic. Leads all aspects of design for the company with a primary focus on driving the look, fit, and feel of wearable robotics and powered clothing for the industrial workplace. Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to peripheral devices and components, packaging, and apps / user interface design. Using patented technologies to create wearable electric muscles to augment physical strength and reduce fatigue, workplace injury, and lost wages. ·Created Design Direction for new product release for 2022 as well as foundational direction for all future products. ·Collaborated cross functionally with a team of mechanical engineers, DFM engineers, product managers and developers to drive quick revisions of existing product for large customer needs. ·Collaborated on the writing and documentation of Product requirements and subsystem requirements. ·Lead product concept photoshoot for website imagery and product release documentation and presenta-tions ·Managed company website content updates and creation of social media content calendar and executed against. ·Lead prototype development while managing a team of two product technicians, one intern, and one materi-als and factory sourcing expert. ·Work Cross-functionally with product engineering team to build both functioning prototypes and aesthetic prototypes for product launch. ·Vetted and set up new vendor agreements for production of product and components and maintain relation-ships. -Created wireframe concept directions for demonstration applications and full suite web and app based user interface.

Senior Inline Innovation Apparel Designer, Men’s Athletic Training

Functioned in entrepreneurial way to spearhead design direction, calendar, material, and process of seasonal apparel concept collections 6 months to 1 year plus ahead of design teams. Collaborated cross-functional with category apparel leadership to establish process, calendar and innovation road-map for this new-to-category position, essentially building the job description for role.

Designer II, Nike Pro / Men‘s Athletic Training

2015 – 2018

Acted as lead for NIKE-PRO base layer product lines that focused on padded Pro Hyperstrong, sport specific solutions, athlete asset specific needs, and 1st layer protective garments intended for competitive impact sports. Experience in role culminated in leading creation of first “Nike PRO Collection” of apparel.

Planned, designed, developed, and implemented functional benefits for future apparel product, from concept to production, as part of a multidisciplinary team. Involved in 5 major project initiatives.

Performance Soft Goods Product Designer

Fox Head, Inc.

2010 – 2011

Designed in-house soft goods product for Fox owned SHIFTMX and corporate Mountain Bike product lines. Managed design and technical specification of all entry level apparel product line, gear bags and motocross accessories, 30+ styles of carry-over product and 5 new styles Mountain Bike Divisions products, providing on-schedule release dates for high volume / margin product lines.

Created in-house soft goods product for Fox owned SHIFT Racing. Focused on all aspects of performance of product offerings, which included: technical motocross performance apparel, technical street motorcycle protective apparel, bags and accessories.

Product Design Intern

Shift MX

2003 – 2003

As the design intern at Shift Racing I had the opportunity to work with and learn from a team of talented and experienced designers and get my first taste of real world design for production. Learned the ropes by helping out on small projects, assisting with trim and details, and by completing one product for production, the Mach Kidney belt, which utilized a unique double cavity mold that at the time made the Mach the lightest among it's competitors. I Worked on a variety of projects spanning across Shifts product lines, from Motocross gear and apparel, to Go Kart racing products and graphics, and some street motorcycle products.
