2013 – 2014

Helped the design director of a home textiles importer with any design tasks needed. Daily tasks included color matching and specifications for textile prints, putting artwork into repeat and picking and changing color ways using Photoshop and Illustrator, creating bitmaps to show product, and assisting in putting together presentations both digitally and with fabric materials.

2008 – 2009

Assisted conceptual designer with apparel line including preparation of pieces for runway and art shows and the making of sample garments. Helped designer by visiting and working with factory, doing light pattern drafting and cutting, working on sculptural pieces, and assisting in any way helpful.

Worked full time as Design Assistant (Feb - May 2008): Tasks included designing garments and accessories, sketching flats in illustrator, updating line sheets, working on tech packs, sourcing sustainable fabric and trims, attending fittings, working at trade show, and assisting with order distribution for stores and website. Continued to work freelance to design clothing as designs were needed (June-Oct 2008).

Worked closely with designers and in-house production team to complete tasks. Tasks included working with various outside operations (trim services, dye houses, screen printer, sewers, pattern drafters, and fabric embellishers), preparation of line for trade shows, preparation for and working at fashion show, design and development of “Louder-dog” line, hand sketching, preparing line sheets, sourcing sustainable materials and operations, coming up with and working on artistic fabric manipulations, and organizing fabric and trims.
