In My Own Words

Since graduating from Savannah College of Art and Design in 2012 with a BFA in Fashion Design, I have had the pleasure of working in the fashion industry for nearly four years. I began working as a Assistant Designer at Sunday and Brooklyn , a women's contemporary line that caters to clients such as Anthropologie, Soft Surroundings, and Sundance. During my role as Assistant Designer, my tasks included, but were not limited to, flat sketching, 1st sample and sample yardage requests, corresponding with the overseas factory, CADs, training fellow assistants, and assisting the head designer. Shortly after two years, I was promoted to Associate Designer and was asked to design for their new young contemporary line, ONEMARKET. As an Associate Designer, I handled communication and sales with clients such as Dillard's, TJ Maxx, and Versona, flat sketched, corresponded with pattern/sample makers during sample making process, attended fit sessions, advised fit comments to the factory, specification measuring, reviewed/approved bulk fabric, and approved full grading specifications, amount other things. I believe my roles within this company have allowed me to hone my talents and have prepared me to excel in my career.
