Senior Apparel Designer/ Project Manager
BY KM2017 – Present
Freelance Fashion Designer, multiple brands: BY KM- Oversaw launch/managed dev.- production for Reggae singer Bob Marley’s daughter, Karen Marley. Created line plan within budget, negotiated factory costs, managed team, calendar, and all fittings. Sourced eco-conscious fabrics, trims, labels, hang tag and shipping materials. RAJ MFG- Senior Women’s Swim Designer (Contract)/ November 2015- July 2016, Tustin, CA. Designed Swim/swim cover ups, chose trend, color, and print direction. Accounts Included: Saks, Nordstrom’s, Bloomingdales, Everything But Water for Athena and Antonio Melani Swim. Private Label Activewear- Senior Designer/ July 2017-March 2018, Los Angeles CA. Created activewear for private label. Oversaw design from concept/design direction to production.

Created and updated 2D and 3D assets for apparel and accessories in Men’s, Women’s and Kids categories of: Lifestyle, Performance, ACG, Olympic and NBA jerseys. Learned and applied 2D/3D design updates using Illustrator, Web PDM, and Browzwear programs Lotta and V Stitcher. Attended weekly meetings with cross functional teams and participated in feedback for workflow improvements.

Groceries Apparel2017 – 2017
Women’s Fall 2018- Contract Presented direction for trend in silhouette, color, and fabrics to owners and cross functional teams. Designed collection of knit tops, bottoms, dresses and outerwear from sketch to final CAD. Worked with team to source fabric/trims, oversaw fittings and final fit approvals. Presented seasonal direction to owner, Design Director and cross functional teams for Ella Moss, Athena, and Antonio Melani Swim. Guided Associate Designer for Splendid Swim. -ELLA MOSS SWIM: Designed swim/swim cover ups for 2017. Chose trend, color/print, fabric in collaboration with Ella Moss Apparel team. -ATHENA SWIM: Designed Swim/swim cover ups, forecasted trend, color, and print direction. -ANTONIO MELANI SWIM: Designed a multitude of new on-trend silhouettes for SU2017 Accounts Included: Saks, Nordstrom’s, Bloomingdales, Shop Bop, Revolve. Men’s Global Youth Designer- All categories (Contract)
VOLCOM2015 – 2015
(Contract for 6 mo. maternity leave) Designed for baby to size 12 boys for Fall-Holiday 2016. Presented trends, key bodies, color and print to internal counterparts. Chose print and fabric direction for youth exclusives. Oversaw development of all youth takedowns from men’s styles. Approved all fabric, graphics, lab dips, and sealing samples. Attended all fittings and final fit approvals. Met with Sr Merchandiser on color assortments. Collaborated with designers in France and Japan on various categories.
Women's Outlet Designer
Pacific Sunwear2013 – 2014
Presented Design concepts to VP of Design/ Design Director and cross functional teams for Women’s Outlet. Designed 120+ styles a season, categories included: swim, outerwear, knit/woven tops, sweaters, fleece, soft bottoms, and dresses. Met with graphics teams on art specific to each category. Worked with Senior Buyer to create key item programs and Prod. Dev. Teams on strategy for achieving margin goals and timelines. Approved all final fit, fabric, prints and lab dips. Met with vendors on fabric, trim and design development adhering to internal and external budgets. Collaborated with women’s design team seasonally on design direction including shopping, market research and consumer analysis.

Forever 212011 – 2013
Designed Tops, Dresses, Outerwear, Skirts, Bottoms and Sweaters. Worked in various departments for LOVE21 and F21 designing 50 styles weekly to present to internal buyers for development. Designed trend right product seasonally through hand sketch/ CAD, and full tech packs to approval with buyers. Presented new styles to owner and met with outside vendors on development and print.

Women’s Design/ Tech Design Venice, CA 2010-2011 Seasonal Presented design and direction for Women’s 2010/2011 apparel. Created full tech packs with specs and sewing instructions for overseas factory.
Designer/ Ilustrator (Contract)
PUMA2011 – 2011
Worked with Karen & Cedella Marley (daughter’s of Bob Marley) in design and Illustration for the 2012 Jamaican Woman’s Olympic Team in collaboration with PUMA. Assisted in designs and created all initial sketches for Running/Track and Field, and Ceremony outfits, including hardware for design presentations to PUMA.

Illustrator, Menswear Collection July 2010- April 2011, Los Angeles CA Collaborated with Design Team in Los Angeles and Italy seasonally to illustrate men’s collection on fashion figures in all apparel categories using hand drawing and CAD design to create realistic visuals of how looks would be merchandised.
