In My Own Words

From a young age I was always designing things so a career in design seemed natural for me. I began my studies at Newcastle College, quickly learning the basics of pattern cutting before moving to London to experiment more with design at the London College of Fashion. Here I first began to mix my love of design with another passion, sport. During my time on the Sportswear course at LCF, I was fortunate to undertake two internships; one in Manchester, England at Eternity Football and another at the Nike European HQ in The Netherlands. After graduating with First Class Honours in 2014, I moved to the French Basque Country to work at Nabaiji, the swimming brand of Decathlon, as the designer responsible for the male swimwear collections and Open Water Range. Immersing myself in the brand and world of watersports, I discovered new passions for Open Water swimming, technical design and sustainability. It is within these 3 areas I would like to evolve my career, focusing on more technical design and heavy stitching products with an interest in conscious design. With the ultimate goal being to return to the world of watersports to work on on the sustainability of neoprene products.
