<p>I am a senior mechanical engineer and developer that loves the outdoors. I have worked in the outdoor industry for over 10 years now and couldn't imagine a better fit for me. Designing products with like minded individuals is the best way to work. </p>

Senior Product Development Engineer

Bell Helmets

2021 – Present

Managed 2-person design teams tasked with designing complex bike and motorcycle helmet assemblies that met all specifications set by category manager ● Instituted timelines for design, quality, and engineering team to ensure projects reached milestones and maintained alignment with sales and marketing teams ● Oversaw impact testing for helmets, instructing factories on layup modifications for carbon and fiberglass helmets in order to pass different certifications per country ● Maintained supplier relationships in China for current and future helmet projects, overseeing all development through to production with each individual factory

Design AND Development Engineer

Black Diamond Equipment

2019 – 2021

● Developed innovative new helmet for Black Diamond to enter the snow category ● Oversaw all aspects of the design process from conception to mass production, including: concept design, rapid prototyping, tool creation, detailed bill of materials, safety standards testing, and manufacturing support ● Adapted CAD skills to NX software to complete complex helmet models

Giro Sport Design

2016 – 2019

Served as Lead Engineer for Giro snow helmet line and consulted with cross-functional teams Collaborated with Industrial Design to maintain design intent of helmets and keep development on schedule Managed 2 person outsourced engineering team tasked with designing components for complex helmet assemblies Created advanced 3D surfaces using Solidworks for robust part files that were ready for tooling Traveled to China 2-3 times annually to troubleshoot pre production challenges and approve helmets for production at multiple factories Successfully introduced 3-4 high end helmets into market yearly

2015 – 2016

Designed and improved child and cargo trailers for bicycles based on feedback provided by key customers Prototyped and tested new designs using DFMEA data when moving forward with products for production Identified challenges during production runs and developed innovative solutions before next build cycle

Engineered helmets, goggles, and glasses using Solidworks to satisfy the needs in the current outdoor market Transformed and resolved 2D designs provided by designer into a 3D toolable format for mass production Oversaw all aspects of the design process from conception to mass production, including: concept design, rapid prototyping, tool creation, detailed bill of materials, safety standards testing, and manufacturing support Communicated daily with factories in Guangzhou, China for tooling creation and injection molding Successfully introduced 4-5 new products into market yearly
