Freelance photographer working on part editorial/commercial work and part personal projects.

I love to take an idea from inception to finished product working with the tools I have.

I have 15 years of photography and video experience in both the studio and on location for clients all over the country. I also have 9 years of experience as a user experience designer and web developer working at 2 major advertising agencies with clients from all over the world.

Currently a photographer and UX/web developer for a print and digital agency in Kansas City, I direct and produce images and videos for websites, client headshots, social media marketing and more. I storyboard, prepare, light, compose and edit images and videos every day for a range of items, from client products, food, architecture, short informative videos and other on-location shots. In addition, I also gather client needs and wants for their website and translate that into wireframes that give the best user experience with as little friction as possible. Once approved by the client, I then build the website in collaboration with the design team.

I love to create images and video that capture attention and tell stories. I play a key role in the visual storytelling and branding of leading consumer product companies and contribute to successful marketing campaigns.

Previously, I traveled throughout the U.S. to capture nature, lifestyle and landscape photography for a personal project I set out on to photograph the U.S. National Parks and the areas that surround them.

I have comprehensive knowledge of Photoshop, After Effects, Premiere Pro, Illustrator, Lightroom, Bridge and Capture One Pro; studio and lighting setups; and photography equipment including Nikon and Sony cameras (I currently shoot with a Nikon D750 and Sony A9).

Photographer and videographer for digital and print agency working part in studio and part on location. Also working with clients about their online needs and how they want to portray themselves publicly to figure out how best to build a website. From there I work with a team to develop wireframes and then the development of the site with images and videos I have taken.

Feb 2003 — Now

Primarily photographing editorial and commercial subjects for 15 years. I have worked with natural light after hiking in the wild for two days to fully art-directed studio sets for commercial clients. I take pride in being able to work with whatever tools I have available at the time. I love the inception of an idea, bringing it to life and I am happy to take the middle seat on a flight if it means I get to travel. Developer / User Experience Designer · VML

As an international agency, I worked with a team from all over the world to gather information and develop wireframes for clients using pen and paper, Axure and OmniGraffle, then present our work and, once approved, hand those off to the UI team to begin designs. Once those were approved by the client I would begin development in a number of CMSs including Wordpress, Drupal, Adobe CQ5 and more. I would also develop static sites using just HTML, CSS3 and Javascript while working with the design team to incorporate interaction design.
