In My Own Words

Photographer Henry von Wartenberg was born in Mar del Plata, Argentina in 1967. Between 1989 and 1990 he moved to France and traveled around Europe and North Africa capturing people and places with his camera. Back in Buenos Aires, in 1991, he worked for magazines such as El Gráfico, Somos and Para Ti. In 1993 he became part of the staff of Gente magazine for special productions covering different events in Argentina and the world, from conflicts in Nicaragua, the Middle East or Ecuador-Perú to the change of flag in Hong Kong or the Soccer World Cup in France in 1998. In 1996 he won the Pléyade award for best picture of the year with “Piranhas” taken at the Iron Man in Kona, Hawaii. Since 2000 he works as a freelance photographer. He has been a collaborator with media from all over the world. For Tripleve Editores, he has published 21 books such as: Charles Darwin at Southern South, Farms in Argentina and Uruguay, Red Deer, Classic Motorcycles in Argentina, The best of Argentine Polo, Classic Cars in Argentina among other titles. Commissioned by MBI/Motorbooks he photographed The Art of BMW Motorcycles. For Assouline he photographed the book The Impossible Collection of Motorcycles. For BMW he rode on a lonely ride from Alaska to Tierra del Fuego in a F800GS. Obviously, this resulted in a book recording the journey. He is married to journalist Dolores Paillot with whom he has two daughters. This year he rode for BMW the GS Trophy in Mongolia. Was his second participation (first one in Thailand 2016). March 2019 he will walk 300 kms in Península Mitre, Tierra del Fuego. SPONSORS WELCOME :)
