Over eleven years design and development experience in men’s, women’s and children's apparel with a diverse knowledge of apparel categories including; lifestyle, performance, swim and technical outerwear. Possess a variety of talents including management, create innovative and unique salable product, tailor designs for major retailers to build successful merchandised collections and direct overseas development.

Work Experience

Menswear & Little Boys Apparel Designer and Product Developer

2015 – Present

• Design and develop 40 styles per season twice a year for men's and little boys bottom category • Successfully manage product development assistant by setting clear expectations, providing constructive feedback, and giving them opportunities for personal growth • Innovate new fabrics and designs through research and collaboration with overseas fabric mills • Ownership of design/development process; concept, color, design, fabric and production while meeting all deadlines • Liaison between cross-functional partners throughout the style development process, i.e. pattern makers, in house sewers, and graphic designer • Partner with technical design team to ensure successful execution of fit requirements and construction • Facilitate daily communication with overseas vendors and mills ensuring all product development questions are answered in a timely manner • Authorize all approvals on strike-offs, proto type samples, and fabrics for development and production • Present kids/mens collection to internal sales reps and major retailers quarterly to preview line, maximize sales, and collaborate on special make up units • Coordinate with marketing and web for complete sample line and correct content development • Work closely with other category designers to blend ideas and maintain seasonal design direction

2012 – 2013

• Design all four seasons including; knit tops/bottoms, woven tops/bottoms, fleece, jackets and board shorts • Conduct domestic product research • Build seasonal trend and concept direction including theme, color palette, prints, fabrications, defining key silhouettes and details • Ownership of design process; concept, design, fabric, plaids/stripes managed deadlines • Create complete and thorough style tech packs for client; including specs, trims, fabrics and design details • Communicate with product development manager regarding strike offs, knit downs, and samples • Work closely with client and merchandising teams to maintain product assortment and margin/cost goals • Direct seasonal presentations to Kohl's teams, presenting designs in an influential manner to gain buy-in for apparel line

2008 – 2012

• Lead apparel designer for Oakley's Outlet Division (Vault and Vault.com), SMU's and Special Projects • Worked with domestic/international sales to create custom SMU products, including Golf Galaxy, Sport Chek and Oakley Europe • Teamed with senior designer to create Kerri Walsh 2012 Olympic apparel • Designed 2011, 2012 and 2013 bi-annual collections for 48 Vault Stores and Vault.com • Researched, developed and presented seasonal mood, color palette, trims and design direction • Responsible for design process from concept to production • Managed international fittings and product review for vendors and factories • Coordinated with merchandising, development and tech teams to ensure highest level of quality • Ensured product lines meet goals for profit margins and development calendar • Created and presented seasonal lines to VP of Apparel, Design Director, Director of Merchandising and retail team
