In my own words

Casey

A creative professional with 11+ years experience in branding and marketing for digital & print.

Throughout my career, I have been fortunate to work with forward-thinking tech startups and globally recognized brands in-house as well as a freelancer. I bring with me a variety of design skills to help craft lasting brand messaging, produce new design approaches, and help contribute to a solid team of diverse design backgrounds.

I have a passion for creating logos and identities for various brands because it makes every project unique and different from the last. My taste for design is a lot like my lifestyle - a balanced of variety & keeping things simple, but impactful.

Collaborating on something from nothing with other designers is a dream job to me, and although not everyone on this planet will always see eye-to-eye on things, I generally have the ability to get along with most people and keep the gears turning smoothly.

Let's work together.

Trajectory

Jun 2008 — Now
Graphic Designer // Creative Collaborator · Casey Caputo Design
Independent Contractor specializing in full service graphic design. I enjoy the challenge of generating creative graphic works for all types of situations. I mainly focus on identity, branding, web design and print media. Although my ideas might sometimes be outside the box, my design process is refined, and I effectively communicate & listen to my client's needs and vision.
Jun 2011 — Dec 2015
Graphic Designer · LexisNexis
Working as part of the Sales Support Team, my normal job functions involved supporting 50+ sales and customer service team members, and marketing groups within LexisNexis. In both a solo, and team environment, I served my clients located from LA to NY, with a list of projects including, but not limited to: marketing materials, customer-specific product brochures, corporate identities, newsletters, email marketing, magazine spreads, event invitations, print advertisements, client leave-behinds and customer-ready literature. This fast-paced, corporate environment exercised my proven ability to take as well as give direction, prioritize demanding projects, effectively communicate and listen to my clients, and refine an effective work ethic while maintaining attention to the small details.
Sep 2009 — Jun 2010
Graphic Designer // Service Agent, VIP Accounts · Youbet.com
Originally hired as an account agent in customer relations, assisting and managing customers with their accounts. Recognized for my strengths in client relations, quick critical thinking, listening and communicating and sense of urgency, I was quickly trusted and promoted to be in charge of VIP accounts (average monthly wagering of +$33k per month). While in this position, I utilized my networking abilities to find my role as a graphic designer within the in-house creative team. From this new role, under the supervision of the Creative Director, I: • Helped to create ad campaigns and web banners for use on within the user interface. • Revamped existing promotional materials based on current market trends.
Jun 2006 — Dec 2008
Graphic Designer · Cal Poly Pomona University - Athletics
While a student-athlete for Cal Poly, I was the graphic designer for the University’s Athletic Department, I was the responsible for the creation, development, and decision-maker for all design work relating to the Collegiate athletic teams on campus. As the Head (and only) Designer for the department, I was: • Developing the layout and design of all athletic print media including brochures, promotional material, fliers, campus posters, and team apparel design. • Interviewing all coaching staff, and featured athletes for research materials while maintaining and meeting print deadlines • Responsible for staying up to pace with modern design trends and athletic marketing strategies
