Forecast and plan all purchases to meet the needs of Inventory, Sales. Place all purchase orders to factories for both in-stock and special SMU made-to-order goods. Manage all third-party labeling, ticketing, pricing, packaging for special orders from our customers through production. Create product SKU and assign UPC (GS-1) prefix for the entire product line and manage item master in SAP Manage supply chain and logistics out of China from multiple manufacturers using the most cost-effective means. Plan all imports and issue SLI’s to both the factory and the forwarder. Analyze each ocean shipment to accurately track cost per unit to maintain desired margins. Work closely with Import Broker on HTS codes and clearing all shipments. Solely implemented SAP (MRP) System to forecast and purchase high volumes of footwear apparel, while maintaining optimal inventory levels. Manage inventory to ensure correct product mix to meet customer demands for prebook, forecasted, and replenishment programs. Monitor accuracy of on-hand inventory. Develop and oversee schedule of cycle counts to ensure SAP reflects physical inventory. Work closely with Sales, Development, Customer Service, and Accounts Payable.

Procure custom laser-cut stainless parts, as well as custom tooling and dies. Manage all aspects of RFQ and competitive bidding processes as well as vendor management. Plan purchases and schedule as needed to support the manufacturing process. Procure all components using standard purchase orders and blanket purchase orders ensuring a consistent flow of materials to support manufacturing. Source new vendors and identify secondary suppliers to meet the needs of growing customer demand and increasing manufacturing schedules. Cross-functional involvement with product and quality engineers to ensure purchased components meet internal quality standards. Negotiated decreased rates with FedEx achieving 51% discounts on all air and LTL accounts. Produce monthly inventory cycle-count report. Focused on top 20% of inventory, which totals $9,000,000 Collaborate with key suppliers to maintain VMI of key manufacturing components. Examples include filters ($4,600,000), PCB turnkey applications ($2,500,000), stainless steel ($750,000), electrical harnesses, and pumps and blowers ($600,000). Coordinate air and ocean freight logistics of offshore buys from Korea and Canada including filter substrates and platinum coating from two key suppliers. Negotiated FedEx terms resulting in annual savings of $30,000 utilizing competitive quotes, current volumes, and sales forecasts. Saved $40,000 annually on primary rear-panel-mount LED assemblies by sourcing new vendors with large production capacity in the LED market. Criteria and qualifications were reviewed to choose the best-qualified vendor and become a key source which resulted in a decreased spend of 40%. Total Dollar Spend: 2011- $20,348,000. 2012: $13,043,000.
